Woman had bullet in head for 64 years

A Chinese grandmother who went to hospital with a headache was found to have had a bullet in her head for 64 years.

Jin Guangying, 77, of Shuyang town, Jiangsu province, went to to Shuyang Leniency Hospital for an x-ray.

Jin remembers that she was shot in 1943 during the Second World War by the invading Japanese army when she was taking supplies to her guerrilla father.

Executed man gets last meal wish after he dies

A convicted murderer put to death in Tennessee this week got his last meal wish after he died.Philip Workman had turned down the usual final meal of his choice traditionally offered the condemned, asking instead that a vegetarian pizza be given to a homeless person.

Prison officials refused to send out a pizza and Workman died Wednesday by lethal injection.

Nashville’s Union Rescue Mission received 170 pizzas. Media reports said listeners to a radio station in Minnesota also ordered pizzas sent to another organization for troubled youngsters.

Dog’s two weeks on cliff ledge

A dog survived for two weeks on a 100ft high ledge by eating a dead bird and drinking from a waterfall.

When Bush the dog disappeared during a cliff walk, her owner Margie Brett launched a desperate search campaign.

Bush is now recovering at a vet’s surgery and will soon be reunited with Mrs Brett and her husband Hugh.
